Fluoride – Is it safe

Fluoride is found in toothpaste and many water supplies – therefore it must be SAFE. If it wasn’t safe and beneficial to us why would they add it?
Good question.

In America fluoride is classified as a drug by the Food and Drug Administration (F.D.A). This means that 70% of Americans are being medicated by the state. In Europe, only Ireland (73%), Spain (11%), and the U.K. (11%) fluoridate any of their water (with Poland and Serbia at 1%). No other European countries fluoridate their water. In other countries where the water is naturally high in fluoride, it is being actively removed because of possible health problems.

A big problem with fluoridated water is that the dosage each person receives can not be controlled.  A formula fed baby can receive as much as 300 times the amount of fluoride as a breast fed baby (Mother’s milk is very low in fluoride).

Some reports suggest that fluoride consumption may be associated with arthritis, bone fractures in the elderly and other conditions. Strangely consuming fluoride does not lead to a decrease of tooth decay!
