Ashtanga is the system of yoga taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. Ashtanga yoga is a flowing series of poses incorporated with the breath.The result is a yoga practise that heats and detoxifies the body. The blood circulation is improved to all parts of the body so that joints, muscles and internal organs are well cleansed.
There are two classes per day. The morning session follows the primary series of poses whilst the second session has a greater emphasis on the techniques of the individual asanas (poses) and pranayama (breath).
There is also the opportunity for optional personal practise time early in the morning.
